Yes kids, she still exists and is looking down on you with love.

A version of God and the after-life will always exist as long as adults have to explain death to their children; and as long as they need comfort for themselves.  And since we incorporate loved ones into our own psyche's there is in fact life after death as long as we live and sense how they would respond to us in every passing moment.  Whether heaven or hell have a reality outside of this is irrelevant.
